$250 per session,
consisting of 4 two-hour sessions. Limited to 10 students at a time.
The fee includes:
1 film the student owns
Making one screen the student does not own, unless they pay an additional $30.
Printing 5 white or black stock t- shirts with 1 color design, which the student
owns.
Syllabus:
Class 1
Tour of shop including screen shooting equipment, inks, squeegees, screen coating
room, computers, tech styler, PMS book, scanner
Verbal introduction to silkscreen process, description of artwork preparation, color separation.
A demonstration of a multi color job already set up the students can have an opportunity to try.
Verbal discussion
with demonstration of:
Coating a screen, shooting it and the washout.
The proper selection of a mesh, squeegee, and ink type
Photoshop color separation
How to make a film
How to set up the press
Class
2
Students create their own images. Assistance with scanning, files, using photoshop
and the tech styler. Each student makes his or her own film.
Each student practices coating a screen
Class 3
Shoot screen, wash out, dry, repair tape.
Discuss squeegee selection, ink types, mixing colors, PMS matching,
Show examples of half tone screen, printing of some finished designs.
Class 4
Set up student jobs
Select and mix an ink for each student
Each student prints his or her 5 shirts we provide with a one-color image
