Emily and her team have been reliable, compassionate mentors to every student walking through their doors. The interns speak powerfully about the love they receive…They’re proud of the work they accomplish there and are always eager to show off their newfound skills.

Internships

Internship Program for High School Students

Through our long-standing relationships with New York City High Schools, both public and independent, and community-based organizations, Works In Progress provides hand-on work experience in our New York City silk screen printing studio. Rotating around our professional shop, students learn a variety of techniques and skills associated with the production of custom t-shirt printing as well as graphic design, quality control, inventory, customer service and the essentials of team work.

The culminating activity for our interns is the creation of their own design. Interns are afforded a budget to purchase shirts, bags or fleece and produce a small run combining all the skills they have learned. Students often use this experience as part of their final project for school credit.
